Advice on what can be achieved and limiting factors
Step 2
Feasibility study (telephone) – Free of charge
Advice on the type of equipment and investment that would be required in the long term
Step 3
Assessment of raw material – Free of charge
Send a small sample into us to make preliminary tests, analysis (+/-1kg)
Looking at the product characteristics and assessing what will be required to produce a pellet
Step 4
Trial work – £650-£1,000 (25-50kg Batches)
Important: The equipment we use is identical to the equipment used in full scale production lines.
Rather than just ‘making a pellet’, the information gained running the trial allows the process to be increased to any industrial scale required
The trial:
- Preparation – ensure particle size and blends are within parameters
- Grinding – particle reduction, if required
- Mixing – blending materials to ensure a homogeneous mix, addition of liquids or micro ingredients
- Pelleting – production of pellets and monitoring the process
- Cooling – pellet temperature of the pellet mill can be 50-100oC
- Sieving – remove any fines/dust
- Packing – bagged, boxed
- Dispatched – sample pellets returned to customer
- Trail report – (issued as a PDF)
Parameters which can then be used to specify equipment for a larger/industrial scale process
